Mr. Mitch Beverly went to work for Allen Oil Company on January 2, 1979. At that time, it was located at NW Broad Street by the railroad tracks. Allen Oil was owned by Mr. Norris Allen who purchased the business, then known as Colvin Oil Company, from Earl Colvin in 1970.

In 1980, Smith Service Company of Savannah, Georgia purchased the business from Mr. Allen and changed the name to Smith Service Company.

On August 1, 1992, Mitch and Wylene Beverly purchased the business and named it Beverly Tire and Oil Company. In 2013, they moved the business to its present location when they purchased Stephen’s Oil Company’s facility and location from Ray Stephens.

Mr. Beverly sold the business to the Hunt family on January 23, 2023. We changed the name from Beverly Tire and Oil Company to Wayne County Tire & Service as of February 6, 2023.

As long time family friends of Mr. Mitch Beverly, we are proud to carry on the legacy that he built in the community as a business that serves its customers with integrity and the best interests of the customer in mind.
